Van Nistelrooy: Casemiro is a role model, and he was wronged

The interim coach of Manchester United praised the Brazilian team player Casemiro, after qualifying for the quarter-finals of the English League Cup, after beating Leicester City 5-2 yesterday evening.

Van Nistelrooy spoke during press statements after the match, saying: “I was happy for Casemiro. He is a role model, the way he trains, and his level on the field, and I am happy to have him with us.”

He continued: “Many blamed him after the loss to Liverpool. It is unfair to him, and it is not right. He is an example for all the team’s players.”

Casimiro was able to score two goals against Leicester City, helping his team, Manchester United, achieve a major victory over Old Trafford, in the first match after the dismissal of Dutchman Erik Ten Hag.

The Red Devils will face Chelsea next Sunday, in the Premier League.
