Mancini: I waived 60% of the release clause in my contract
Saudi national team coach Roberto Mancini spoke about the value of the amount he waived from the release clause in his contract with the Saudi national team. p>
The Saudi Football Federation announced last Thursday the departure of Mancini from his position.
Mancini said in statements to the Saudi newspaper Al-Eqtisadiah: “I waived more than half of the value of the release clause in my contract as coach of the Saudi national team.”
Mancini confirmed that the amount he waived ranges between 60 and 70% of the value of the penalty clause.
The Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera said that the Saudi Football Association paid 50 million euros to terminate its contract with Roberto Mancini.
The coach's contract was extended until 2027.
