Mendy suffered an adductor muscle injury

The technical staff at Al-Ahly Club, led by German Matthias Jaesle, is awaiting the position of Senegalese international Edouard Mendy, the team’s goalkeeper, regarding participating in the Jeddah derby match against Al-Ittihad.

Mendy suffered the injury while participating in the Al-Ahly and Al-Ahly match, which was held yesterday evening, Friday, at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.

Mendy is undergoing a medical x-ray examination of the site of his injury, today. Saturday, in order to determine his ability to participate during the Al-Ittihad match.

The initial examination that Mendy underwent revealed that he suffered a connective muscle injury, which prevented him from completing the match and leaving. Before the start of the second half, the final reveal will determine the period of his absence.

Al-Ahly will meet its counterpart, Al-Ittihad, next Thursday evening, in the ninth round of the Saudi Roshen Professional League Championship.
