Sports commentator Ahmed El-Tayeb attacked Al-Ahly players because of their performance in the Zamalek match in the Egyptian Super Cup final.

Al-Ahly won the Egyptian Super Cup after defeating Zamalek on penalties with a score of 7-6 after the end of regular and extra time in a goalless draw 0-0.

Al-Tayeb said on Facebook: “I very much liked Al-Ahly’s performance in the first half in the Egyptian Super Cup against Zamalek. It provided every good thing except for an error that led to a correct goal for Zamalek, which was canceled by the mouse and the referee of the match.”

He continued: "The question remains. Is it necessary for a calamity or disaster to happen in order for the players to feel responsible? Is it necessary for the player to deduct a large sum of money from him and leave? Is it necessary for Al-Ahly media to criticize the coach, the management and the players for their superiority? Is it necessary for a controversial intervention by the VAR and the referee to save the team from defeat or exit from the tournament, as long as Al-Ahly performs? He added: "Not only technical or physical abilities. There must be a good study of the player’s personality, his culture, and the extent of his responsibility.
