The journalist Walid Al-Farraj commented on the news of the dismissal of Al-Ettifaq coach Steven Gerrard from his position.
Al-Ettifaq suffered a loss from its counterpart, Al-Oruba, with a score of 3-2 yesterday in a match within the framework of the seventh round of the Saudi League.
Walid Al-Farraj said on the “M” channel BBC Action said that Samer Al-Meshal, president of Al-Ettifaq Club, will not be able to resign or take a decision to dismiss Gerrard.
He added: “Al-Mashal is a virtuous man and his experience with the agreement is simple, and Gerard will complete the current season and will not leave.”
He concluded by saying: “There are some coaches stronger than the administrations, and the manager will not be able to dismiss Gerrard, otherwise who will spend on disengaging the coach and contracting with a replacement coach.”
