The Egyptian Club League Cup draw was held today in preparation for its launch with a new and exceptional system.

Taha Ezzat, Director of Competitions Department at the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association, said in his explanation of the new tournament system: “The League Cup consists of the group stage and the knockout rounds.”

He added: "Divide the teams into 4 groups, the first and second of 5 teams, and the third and fourth of 4 teams."

He explained: “The first and second from each group will advance to the round of 8.”

The groups were as follows:

The first group: Zamalek - Smouha - Modern Sport - Petrojet - El Gouna.

The second group: Al-Masry - Ceramica - Zed - National Bank - Ghazl El Mahalla.

The third group: Al-Ahly - Talaea El-Geish - Enppi - Pharco.

Fourth group: Pyramids - Al-Ittihad of Alexandria - Ismaili - Border Guard.
