
The Italian club Como announced the signing of French defender Raphael Varane as a member of the club’s board of directors.
This decision came a short period after the French player announced his retirement. Football due to his knee injury.
The 31-year-old veteran French defender joined the Italian club “Como” last summer after his contract with Manchester United expired.
p>He participated with the Como club for only 23 minutes since his transfer before deciding to retire on September 25.
The club published in an official statement, "that its commitment will not only benefit the players but also the entire community through educational initiatives by including academic, vocational and leadership training in youth programs, as Varane will aim to help young athletes prepare for life outside of football."
