Castro reveals the reason for Al-Nasr's failure to win championships
Former Al-Nasr coach Luis Castro spoke about the reason for Al-Nasr's failure to win championships in the recent period.
Castro said during his interview with the Spanish newspaper "Marca" that Al-Hilal Club is the reason for Al-Nasr's recent failure to win titles.
Castro said: “Had it not been for the presence of Al Hilal, things would have been different with Al Nasr, as sometimes happens with Real Madrid and Barcelona. One of them comes for a certain period and prevents the other from achieving its goals, but this does not prevent Al Nasr from being a great club.”
He added: “With Al-Nasr, I won the Arab Champions Cup title, and we lost the King’s Cup final on penalties and in the Asian Champions League quarter-finals. The season was compressed with matches. There were high expectations for the players in the team, such as Cristiano, Mane, Brozovic, Laporte".
He talked about Cristiano Ronaldo, saying: “Ronaldo is determined to be the best. Every day in training sessions, he has a constant desire to play, break records, and score the most beautiful goals. When you get close to him, you understand why he is a phenomenon. No.” He remains decisive in everything he does.”
Luis Castro was dismissed from coaching Al-Nassr at the beginning of the current season after a series of disappointing results.
