Javier Tebas, President of the Spanish League, La Liga, called for the necessity of canceling the new edition of the Club World Cup for the period between June and July 2025, with the presence of 32 teams.
Tebas said: "Mr. Infantino (FIFA President), you know that you did not sell the broadcast rights to the Club World Cup, nor did you sell the sponsorship rights. Cancel the Club World Cup. This tournament is not needed by players, clubs or FIFA."
He added: “The Club World Cup is not necessary for the players, nor for the clubs, nor for FIFA, and the only thing it does is chaos.”
