Walid Al-Farraj mocks the Saudi national team defender

The journalist Walid Al-Farraj mocked Saudi national team defender Ali Lagami after his recent statements in which he expressed his satisfaction with Al-Akhdar’s performance against Japan.

The Saudi national team was defeated yesterday by its Japanese counterpart with a score of 2-0 in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Al-Farraj said on the “Action with Walid” program: “Today Ali Lagami said we performed well. I don’t know if he is watching another match or what.”

He added: “There is no shame in going out You are satisfied with yourself, but the team’s performance is extremely disappointing and out of shape.”

He continued: “Some can talk about arbitration or the performance of one player or another according to the fans’ affiliations, but the clear truth is that these are far from the truth.”

He continued: “All the justifications that are made about Japan’s strength or the possibility of qualifying and compensation are nothing but painkillers that have exhausted the Saudi sports body.”

He concluded: “In the past, we used to say, ‘God, God, our team. Today, perhaps we say, ‘May God help our team.’”
