Manchester City wins the Premier League
The English club Manchester City announced in an official statement that the court had taken a decision that was in the club’s interest against the English Premier League.
It was The Premier League had claimed that Manchester City's sponsorship deals were "unlawful" before this decision was overturned by the court.
The statement read: "The court decided that the rules... “The current rules are unfair and the Premier League is unfair specifically in how these rules are applied to City in practice.”
He stated: “In addition to these general findings regarding legality, the court overturned specific decisions issued by the Premier League to re-determine the fair market value of two transactions concluded by Manchester City.”
He added: The court decided that the Premier League reached its decisions in a procedurally unfair manner.”
He concluded: “The court ruled that there was an unreasonable delay in the Premier League’s assessment of the fair market value of two Manchester City sponsorship transactions, and that the Premier League had therefore breached its own rules.”
The newspaper said: The British Daily Mail said that the APT rules, which Manchester City succeeded in overturning, aim to limit the amount that any club can spend on its first team, and limit the commercial revenues that the club brings in.
