Reasons for Hossam Hassan’s exclusion of Imam Ashour and Elneny

Hossam Hassan, coach of the Egyptian national team, decided to exclude Mohamed Elneny, the Emirati player for Al-Jazira, and Emam Ashour, the Al-Ahly player, from the list called up to play the two matches with Mauritania in the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco.

According to what was revealed by the journalist Ahmed Schubert, Imam Ashour left the last camp due to a mild injury and felt that he would not participate in the main, and he told his doctor that he wanted to leave, and based on that, Hossam Hassan did not summon him to the October camp.

Schubert continued, saying: “The question is, does Imam Ashour’s level at the present time qualify him to play with the Egyptian national team? Or is it better for the player to have motives to represent his country?

As the Egyptian journalist mentioned, Mohamed Elneny is a committed player, but he is outside Hossam Hassan’s accounts in the new camp.
