Lunin: This is what we were missing, and I am happy to return to playing

Real Madrid goalkeeper Andrey Lunin appeared in press statements after the 1-0 loss to Lille in the second round of the Champions League.

The goalkeeper said: “ It is difficult to analyze directly what we lacked... Aggression, creativity and depth, which we always have, fought a little more. In the second half we showed more desire, but in the first half we were worse.”

He added: “Obviously we want to win, of course, because we know the colors we are playing with. But nothing happened. Keep working and prepare for the next match.”

He continued: “What did the coach tell you at halftime? It is not time to analyze the first half now, but it was bad, it is clear, it is time to analyze it closely and improve. Although there is almost no time: there are many matches and we have to win.”

He concluded: “I am happy that I am back playing again. But on the other hand, I support Thibaut Courtois, and I hope he recovers. The most important thing today is winning. We achieve this, and when you do not win, you are not happy. We always want to win and it does not matter who plays, the team is ahead of everything.”
