Blanc: These are the reasons for Al-Ittihad’s victory over the Gulf

Laurent Blanc, coach of the Saudi Al-Ittihad Club, spoke about the reasons for his team's victory over Al-Khaleej yesterday.

Al-Ittihad succeeded in winning with a big score (4-1) in yesterday's match within the fifth week of the Saudi Roshen League.

Blanc said in the press conference after The match: “The first half was difficult for Al-Ittihad, and the Gulf team was closing the spaces in a distinctive way. We did not have the speed in the first half, and we did that in the second half.”

He explained:" The physical performance in the second half was difficult for the Gulf and we were better, and in football, if you do not score, you will have problems, and in the second half we made many sentences and a good reaction from the team.”

He continued: “I spoke with the players at halftime, and I told them that whether we win or lose, the spirit of the group must be present.”

He concluded: “The first half was not good, but we had possession. We did not have a player specialized in penetrating from the sides, so I brought in Fawaz and Faqihi, and they made the difference.”
