Gomez: We were at the highest concentration and we deserved the cup

Portuguese coach Jose Gomez, coach of Zamalek, expressed his happiness at achieving the African Super Cup title at the expense of Al-Ahly, by winning on penalties 4-3 after regular time ended in a positive draw 1-1.

Gomez said in his statements at the press conference after winning the African title: “This match is based on details and we were focused throughout the 90 minutes and it was a fair cup for Zamalek.”

He continued: “We proved that we have the ability to win against any team and created many opportunities. We dedicate this cup to the Zamalek fans who are with the team in any competition.”

He concluded: “If you want to become a player or coach in a big club, you must win all the confrontations. We do not know what the next goal will be, but we will compete for all the championships for the sake of the spirit of Zamalek.”
