Zamalek wins the African Super Cup at the expense of Al-Ahly
The Zamalek team won the African Super Cup at the expense of its counterpart, Zamalek, on penalties, after the end of regular time in a 1-1 draw.
Ahly advanced through Wissam Abu Ali. In the 44th minute, a penalty kick was awarded by the referee after using video technology.
In the 77th minute, Zamalek scored the equalizer through substitute Nasser Mansi after a cross ball that Mansi converted with a shot into the net.
The two teams went directly to penalty kicks, which won in favor of Zamalek with a score of 4-3.
This is Zamalek’s fifth title in the history of the competition, and its first title since 2019.
