Mohamed Sharif, the star of the Saudi Gulf Club, spoke about his move to the Saudi League and his team’s ambitions this season.

Sherif said in statements on the official channel of the Saudi League on YouTube: “Our ambition in the Saudi Gulf is to finish the team’s standings in a better position than it was last season.”

He added: “The Gulf Club sought to include me from the ranks of Al-Ahly Club two seasons ago, but I was injured during that period, and when the Saudi Club renewed its interest in me, I immediately informed my agent of its approval.”

He continued: “The Saudi League has become very strong, and when you face a better opponent in every match you play in the tournament, this raises the ceiling of competition and constantly pushes you to give your best ever, and players come from Europe to the Saudi League, which increases... The strength of the league here.”

Regarding the details of his earlier transfer to Al-Ahly, coming from Wadi Degla, he said: “When I received Al-Ahly’s offer, I did not hesitate to accept it, but I came during a period when the team at that time included many stars such as Walid Suleiman, Moamen Zakaria, in addition to... To Abdullah Al-Saeed, so I preferred to go out on loan at that time to prove myself, which is what actually happened when I played for Enppi and came back stronger, and I was able to score many goals, which made me the 15th top scorer in Al-Ahly’s history, and I would have continued my career there and would have been among the top 10 scorers in Al-Ahly’s history.
