Hierro: Pioli's selection was made by collective agreement

The Spanish Fernando Hierro, sports director at Al-Nasr Club, revealed the method of choosing the Italian Stefano Pioli to take over the leadership of the team, succeeding the Portuguese Luis Castro, whose contract was terminated due to poor results.

He signed Al-Nasr Club, today, Thursday, signed a contract with Italian coach Pioli to lead the team for two years, until 2026.

Hierro said in his speech at the press conference to introduce Pioli to the fans and the media: “I I have the largest share in decision-making in Al-Nasr, because I am the sports director.”

He continued, saying: “Pioli was contracted by collective agreement, and I evaluated him out of 10 coaches, then I chose 3 of them and the final choice fell on him.”

Hierro also thanked former coach Castro for the period he spent as coach of the Al-Nasr team, where he said about him: “He is a professional coach and I thank him for what he provided, and it is impossible in football You have to find the right time to change the coach, but I think we acted professionally.”

He continued: “We have upcoming matches every three days; There is a match in the league, the King’s Cup, and the AFC Champions League, and we will be with Pioli and support him fully.”
