Ancelotti: This is the case of Bellingham and Tshuamini, and we want to win tomorrow
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared in a press conference to talk about tomorrow’s confrontation against Stuttgart in the first round of the Champions League.
The coach said in his speech: “ We have the usual enthusiasm, in this competition, as this club has been the protagonist for a long time. It is a special tournament and we will try to compete until the end.”
He added: Bellingham is fine, and so is Tshwamini. And Militao, Militao needed another day of recovery. We were unlucky to lose another important player, but the team is ready and we will try to start winning.”
And about Vinicius’ celebration against Sociedad: “There are always insults against him. I couldn't stand it. Naturally, he put his finger to his mouth. What has happened to him since my arrival is something that cannot be tolerated. I understand the booing, but the whistles against him are not normal. The fans do this because he is a player who poses a threat against their teams and they are trying to distract him.”
He added: “The ideal thing is for the attackers to score goals, for the midfielder to help the defence, and for The defender scores against his opponent. To keep the team together, it is important to help the attackers. But if the attacker defends more than the defender or if the goalkeeper touches more balls than the pivot, there is a problem. We have to improve a little bit in defence, but we have had four clean sheets. The team can perform better in these six matches, but they scored only one goal against us during the matches.”
He stressed: “The problem is that the schedule Very demanding. Now the Champions League is in its new version, it may be more entertaining than last year, but the truth is that there are two more games in this competition. If organizations don't start believing that players are getting injured because they play too much, that's a problem. We need to play fewer matches so that the competitions are more attractive.”
And he noted: “Toni Kroos? We have to think about the future, he is an irreplaceable player, and the players we have here will perform well. As Kroos said, we lost Nacho, Kroos and Joselu. In return, one of the best players in the world (Mbappe) arrives. Do we have a better team than last year? I think so.”
He continued: “Stuttgart is a great team, very organized. Tomorrow will be a very interesting match.”
He concluded: “Does Barcelona’s level worry you? He is a competitor and we respect him, like Atletico or Villarreal, who are doing well. We have the same respect for everyone.”
