Castro: Sad about the draw with Al-Ahly

Saturday 14-09-2024

Al-Nasr's Portuguese coach, Luis Castro, confirmed that his team was superior to Al-Ahly in yesterday's match.

Al-Nasr achieved a draw in the last minute of time instead of an overtime match in yesterday's match against Al-Ahly in the third round of the Saudi Roshen League, so the match ended in a positive draw 1-1.

Castro said in a press conference after the match: “I thank the fans for their support throughout the match. The team gave its best, especially in the last minutes.”

And continue :"Sad about the result. We were superior throughout the match."

He added: “Salem Al-Najdi adapted well with us during the confrontation, but Angelo did not participate with the group until yesterday, and then he was dropped from the list.”

He continued: “The participation of Mohamed Simakan, despite his recent joining, is due to his rapid adaptation, while I do not see that the participation of players born in 2003 was available to Al-Ahly, as that would be at the expense of prominent players such as Talisca.”

He continued: “The injury is the reason for replacing Simakan, and I think that losing 4 points at the beginning of the league campaign may be worrying, but the league is globally competitive.”

He concluded: “It is not good to lose 4 points on our home field, but the results are what govern. We were the best in the two matches and we can win, and we will fight because the league is still a long time away.”
