Revealing a clause in Inigo Martinez's contract
A Spanish press report revealed one of the clauses in the contract of Barcelona defender Iñigo Martinez, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
The Catalan newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" said , there is an automatic renewal clause for an additional season in Martinez’s contract, if he plays 60% of the matches for a period of no less than 45 minutes per match.
The veteran defender has become one of the elements The main players in coach Hansi Flick's squad, in light of the injuries the club is suffering from, led by Araujo and Christensen.
The source added that Barcelona is keen on the player continuing, and will offer him a new contract in the coming months. If the renewal of his contract for a period of one season is not automatically activated.
