Wissam Abu Ali is proud to be the league’s top scorer with Al-Ahly

Palestinian international Wissam Abu Ali, Al-Ahly striker, expressed his extreme pride in achieving the Egyptian League top scorer award despite joining during the winter transfer period, last January.

Wissam Abu Ali said in his interview with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) website: “I am proud of achieving the title of top scorer in the league. This is something new for me. “I am very proud of scoring these goals and winning the league, and also the Champions League.”

Wissam added: “I am a fan of Al-Ahly Club. It is a big club. You can feel the magic of the club and the city, and I am very proud and I want to continue there.”

He continued: “Participating in the next edition of the Club World Cup? It will be a great experience. Al-Ahly is a very big club.”

He added: “I am very proud to play there. I had a great season in my first 6 months. It is a big team.”

He continued: “Everyone wants to go to the Club World Cup to win, we will do that too. We are a great team and we aspire to achieve success.”

He touched on Palestine’s scoreless draw with South Korea in the first round of the third round qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup: “I “Happy to get the point. Both teams could have gotten the three points today.”

He concluded: “I missed a great opportunity in the last moments. I am a striker and I want to score goals. I usually do not waste such opportunities, and I am sure that the attackers of the South Korean national team will say: The same thing.”
