Zamalek: The salary cap is behind Obama's contract not being renewed

Ahmed Salem, the official spokesman for Zamalek Club, revealed the scenes behind the departure of Youssef Obama, the team’s player, during the current summer transfer period after the end of his contract with Al-Abyad.

Ahmed Salem said in television statements: “Youssef Obama is a great player, and the expiration of his contract with Zamalek does not mean that the relationship is tense, and the club is proud of the period he spent with the team.”

He added: “The player who agrees to the salary determined by Zamalek will have his contract renewed, and whoever refuses will be allowed to leave, which is what happened with Youssef Obama.”
