Revealing the reasons for the failure of Karim El-Barkawi’s transfer to Zamalek
Aziz Al-Shafii, the agent of Moroccan Karim Al-Barkawi, the Al-Raed player, revealed the reason for the faltering negotiations for the player’s transfer to Zamalek.
Al-Shafi’i said in his statements: “The negotiations with Zamalek were going smoothly, but the player apologized for completing his transfer negotiations due to his father’s illness in Morocco.”
He continued: “Al-Barkawi’s father’s health conditions were behind stopping his transfer to Zamalek. The player felt confused as a result.”
Al-Barkawi’s agent indicated that Zamalek officials dealt professionally and humanely in the negotiations and respected the player’s situation.
He continued: “Al-Barkawi is considered one of the best foreign players in the history of Al-Raed, and the club president intervened and sponsored the treatment of the player’s father.”
He continued: “Al-Barkawi decided to sacrifice his season for his father, whether his treatment was in Morocco or Saudi Arabia.”
