Al-Ittihad Club is still interested in obtaining the services of Moroccan international Naif Akrad, West Ham's English defender, during the current summer transfer period.

Al-Ittihad is looking for a deal for a new foreign defender before the end of the summer transfer market in order to strengthen its defense line in light of the repeated injuries to Brazilian Luiz Felipe.

French journalist Santi Ona, affiliated with the French website Foot Mercato, confirmed that Real Sociedad has become the latest interested in contracting with Naif Akrad.

Real Sociedad, along with Spanish club Villarreal, are entering the race to sign Nayef Akrad this summer.

Ona indicated that Al-Ittihad Club is also still interested. By including Naif Akrad, and the decision about the player will be made within a few hours or days.

According to the same sources, Al-Ittihad Club inquired about the status of Naif Akrad, but no official offer has been made for him at the present time.
