Ancelotti: This is what we lacked, and I am not happy with the draw

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared in a press conference after the 1-1 draw against Real Mallorca in the first round of La Liga.

The coach said in his speech :"We lacked the required balance, behavior and collective commitment. We will not perform well, and we had to defend better than we did. The defensive aspect was not good. It was difficult for us to recover the ball and apply pressure after losing the ball."

He added: “Last year I was happy with some draws, but today I am not happy. The match had to be presented much better. I don’t want excuses. We had to deal better in some situations.”

He stressed: “We can learn a lot from this match because it seems clear where we might face problems in the future.”

He noted: “When the Champions League competition starts, we will be able to rely on the rotation principle, but now we are playing a match every week.”

He continued: “The team was random on the field, and we could have lost. We had to be more focused and play as one team. Defensive balance is necessary because we are an offensive team.”

He concluded: “Are you late in making substitutions today? Everyone has an opinion, maybe I'm late or maybe not."
