Haaland: A perfect start to the season, and this is what Guardiola wants from me
Manchester City star Erling Haaland spoke in press statements, after beating Chelsea with two unanswered goals, in the first round of the Premier League.
Haaland said: “ Three points, perfect start, the first games are always difficult, for everyone, it doesn't matter if you have pre-season or not. I've had a long preparation but I don't feel perfect, I'm not in perfect shape. It's good to get this win."
He added: "I knew exactly what to do, I think it was a really good goal. I remember last year the Chelsea goalkeeper made a really good save on me, it had been bothering me for a long time, so yes, it was a perfect goal.
“The best players are the best in the easiest way,” he said. Touching things with your right and passing them with your left is the important thing. Pep [Guardiola] tells me this all the time.”
“I want to be more involved, that’s what,” he added. Pep wants it. But in games like this, do I need to be more involved? That's the million-dollar question. I want to get more assists and become a better player."
He continued: “I want to help the team and make the team do well and put other players in better positions. To get an extra meter for Bernardo Silva, No. 10, if I can stretch the midfielders to get an extra meter, I will do it. It's something It is difficult, but yes, I want it.”
He concluded, “When you see today all the defenders, and how well they play, and also the midfielders, it looks like - and Pep will not like me [ Guardiola] For saying this - but they don't need me I can just stand there and watch, but no, of course, to be more involved, that's what Pep wants
