Jesus: Lodi succeeded in stopping Mahrez's threat, and I like his performance

The Portuguese Jorge Jesus, coach of Al-Hilal team, responded to critics of the performance of Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi, in his statements after the confrontation with Al-Ahly.

Al-Hilal qualified for the final. Saudi Super Cup by defeating Al-Ahly on penalties (4-1) after tying the match with a score of (1-1).

Jesus said in his statements after the end of the match: “Lodi joined us during the winter transfer period and was suffering from a foot injury.”

He continued: “Today, Lodi faced Riyad Mahrez, who is one of the best wingers in the world, and he limited his danger except in goalball. I am satisfied with the player’s performance with us.”

Lodi faces a lot of criticism from Al Hilal fans on social media, who did not like the player’s performance in the matches he participated in since his arrival last January.
