The journalist Muhammad Al-Laithi confirmed that Al-Ahly officials rejected the departure of Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali from the team this summer.
Wissam Abu Ali is the top scorer in the Egyptian League this season with 18 goals.
Mohamed Al-Laithi said on “On Sport FM” radio: “Media reports spoke of Saudi clubs’ desire to include the Palestinian striker this summer in exchange for $5 million.”
Mohamed Al-Laithi added: “Al-Ahly did not receive any offers from any club to join the club.” Wissam Abu Ali will not allow him to leave because he has become a goal machine that the team needs during the coming seasons.”
He continued: “It will be impossible to neglect Wissam Abu Ali because he joined Al-Ahly after suffering many years in searching for a striker with such high technical and scoring capabilities.”
