Mohamed El-Sayed gave Egypt its first medal at the Paris Olympics, after defeating Hungary's Tibor Andrasfi in the match for third and fourth place in the fencing competition.
The Egyptian player was late. With a score of 7-6, before he was able to equalize the score 14 seconds before the end.
After resorting to extra time, Al-Sayed was able to snatch the victory with the golden touch, ending the duel. In his favor, with a score of 8-7.
Al-Sayyed thus gave his country its first medal in the Paris Olympics (a bronze medal).
