Real Madrid prepares for strong presence at Ballon d'Or ceremony in London
Real Madrid are preparing to participate with a large delegation in the Ballon d'Or awards ceremony for 2026, scheduled to take place on Monday, October 26, in the British capital, London, after missing the 2024 edition and having a limited presence last year.
According to the French newspaper "L'Équipe", Real Madrid has decided to enhance its presence at this year's event after boycotting the 2024 edition at the last moment in protest against Brazilian Vinicius Junior not winning the award, which was claimed by Spanish Rodri. Meanwhile, the club's representation at the 2025 edition was limited to women's team player Caroline Weir.
Representatives from Real Madrid and potential players are expected to head to London after the upcoming clash against FC Barcelona in the Spanish league, scheduled for Sunday, October 25, at 11 PM.
Real Madrid have four candidates for the Ballon d'Or: Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Marc Cucurella, according to the French newspaper.
Real Madrid's presence in the competition extends to other awards, as Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois competes for Best Goalkeeper, while Yan Diomande appears among the nominees for Best Young Talent. Meanwhile, Felicia Schröder is competing for the award designated for Best Young Talent in the women's category.
