Louis Saha recommends Scott McTominay to Real Madrid and reveals potential transfer advantage

Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has recommended Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay of SSC Napoli for a move to Real Madrid, believing the player has the potential to play for the biggest European clubs. This move could reunite him with Portuguese manager José Mourinho.

Scott McTominay has joined SSC Napoli in the summer of 2024 from Manchester United for a fee of £25.9 million. He quickly established himself as a key player, contributing to the team's Serie A title win during his first season with the club, which has sparked speculation about his future and the possibility of a big-money transfer.

Saha, in statements reported by the Manchester Evening News from the Betting Lounge website, said: "Scott McTominay's departure from Manchester United is now in the past, but he is a wonderful player who hasn't received full appreciation there. United have failed to make the most of his potential, which is a mistake the club has repeated over the years."

He added: "McTominay has the level to play anywhere, including Real Madrid, and it will be interesting to see him alongside Jude Bellingham. Both players have similar physical and dynamic attributes, and McTominay has proven his worth at the highest levels, which will also be great for the Scotland national team."

If the deal is completed during the upcoming transfer windows, Manchester United could benefit financially, as the agreement for the sale of the player includes a clause that grants the English club 10% of the value of any future sale deal that SSC Napoli secures for the services of the Scottish midfielder.

It is noted that Scott McTominay previously worked under José Mourinho at Manchester United, participating in 31 matches under the Portuguese coach, which makes his potential transfer to Real Madrid, according to the scenario proposed by Saha, an opportunity to meet his former manager again. However, discussions about his move to the Spanish club remain speculative, and no official agreement regarding the deal has been announced.
