FUS Rabat squander victory against ASEC Mimosas before return leg

Morocco's RS Berkane settled for a 1-1 draw against Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas in a match that took place on Sunday evening at the honorary stadium in Meknes, as part of the first leg of the final qualifying round for the group stage of the CAF Champions League.

The Moroccan team managed to finish the first half leading by a goal, after Nour Eddine Osama opened the scoring in the 31st minute, amidst a large crowd of supporters who backed the representative of the scientific capital during the match.

FUS Rabat were close to securing the win, but the Ivorian team equalised in the dying seconds, denying the hosts a victory that would have given them an advantage ahead of the return leg.

With this result, qualification calculations are postponed ahead of the anticipated return leg next weekend in Abidjan, where FUS Rabat will need to achieve a positive result to secure their place in the group stage of the continental competition.
