Gasperini: Victory over Genoa is important and loss to Real Madrid was devastating

Gian Piero Gasperini, the head coach of AS Roma, confirmed his satisfaction with his players' reaction after the 2-0 victory over Genoa in the seventh round of Serie A, noting that his team performed well despite the numerous absences they faced before the match.

Gasperini said after the match: "It was not an easy encounter, we faced difficulties dealing with Genoa during the first half, but we improved in the second half. We played with a very young lineup, and all the players rose to the occasion, achieving a very important victory."

AS Roma's coach addressed his team's reaction following the defeat to Real Madrid by a score of 4-3 in the UEFA Champions League, stating: "Losing in this manner was devastating, as we delivered a high-level performance and deserved to win. We made things difficult for ourselves in a span of 6 or 7 minutes, after conceding three goals from corner kicks, which greatly upset us, but I never doubted the players' ability to respond."

Gasperini praised the goal scored by Santiago Castro, highlighting the exceptional technical touch that led to the goal. He also noted that AS Roma have become more capable of scoring compared to last season, thanks to increased harmony among the players and the presence of additional attacking options, referring to Donyell Malen and Paulo Dybala.
