Fabio Cannavaro: Al Ahly FC enjoys great fame in Europe

Italian Fabio Cannavaro, the current coach of Uzbekistan, spoke about his previous visit to Egypt, praising Al Ahly FC and confirming that the Red Club is a great club with significant fame in Europe.

Fabio Canavaro stated in remarks to the program "From Cairo" on ON Sport channel: "I visited Egypt recently when I received an invitation to attend a sporting event, and I visited Al Ahly FC and was warmly welcomed."

He continued: "Al Ahly FC is a big club, it has a different school, and it is also known in Europe. I was really impressed because I found a great level of professionalism in the training. Unfortunately, some believe that football in Africa or in Egypt is less than in Europe, but this is not true. I was honored to be here in Egypt, and in any African country."

He pointed out: "When I saw Mohamed Salah playing for ACF Fiorentina and AS Roma, I said he is a great talent, and he developed with Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool, becoming a complete player. He could defend, attack, and he is a very smart player. He understands well that current players must sacrifice, he controls the ball very quickly, and he has shown great value, becoming one of the strongest and best forwards recently."

When asked if Al Ahly FC had ever negotiated with him to lead the first football team, he replied: "I am currently only thinking about coaching Uzbekistan, I love to take on new experiences, but I am not interested right now as I am focused on my team."
