Baba Matarr Sar's numbers impress Spalletti as the Senegalese establishes himself at Juventus

Senegalese Pape Matar Sarr has made a strong impression at Juventus, having delivered impressive performances since joining the team, earning the admiration of coach Luciano Spalletti. Meanwhile, Khéphren Thuram continues his recovery from injury, while Teun Koopmeiners faces an increasingly difficult task in regaining his place.

According to the Italian newspaper "Tuttosport", Saar, who was initially seen as a questionable signing on the last day of the transfer market, has managed to become an influential figure in Juventus' midfield in just four matches, thanks to his ability to win the ball and cut passing lines, as well as his bravery in asking for the ball and trying to play under pressure, even when his technical abilities are not at their best.

Sarr delivered impressive numbers during the match against Celta Vigo, recording five ball interceptions, the highest among players in the game. His successful passing rate reached 92%, and his touch accuracy in the opponent's half was 93%. The Senegalese player also covers nearly 12 kilometers in each match, making him one of the hardest-working players on the team and contributing to increasing the overall distance covered by the entire squad.

The newspaper reported that Spalletti values Sar's fighting spirit and his willingness to learn and adapt, despite the language barrier. Additionally, his presence gives Douglas Luiz more freedom in building play and allows Weston McKennie to focus more on attacking roles. Meanwhile, the coach prefers to give Thuram enough time to recover without rushing his return, while Koopmeiners remains under pressure, despite Spalletti's recent defense of him, given the difference Sar shows in terms of activity, pressing, and ball recovery ability.
