Al-Qadisiyah top Saudi Pro League after beating Abha

Al-Qadisiyah temporarily took the lead in the Saudi Pro League after defeating their visitors Abha 2-1 in the match that took place on Friday evening as part of the ninth round of the competition.

Al-Qadisiyah has taken advantage of the postponement of several matches, most notably the clash between Al-Hilal and Al-Riyadh, to rise alone to the top of the table after successfully securing three new points at home.

In the 12th minute, Italian Mario Rieti missed a penalty for Al-Qadisiyah, but he quickly regained his balance and scored the opening goal for his team in the 30th minute, ending the first half with the home side leading by one goal.

Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat doubled Al-Qadisiyah's advantage with a goal in the 69th minute, before Jouri Al-Yamami reduced the deficit for Abha during stoppage time, specifically in the 95th minute, but his team was unable to equalize.

Al-Qadisiyah have raised their tally to 22 points, temporarily occupying the first position in the Saudi Pro League standings, while Abha's points remain at two, keeping them at the bottom of the table, continuing their negative results without achieving any victory so far.
