Vitinha: We delivered an exceptional first half, and this is what we proved

Vitinha, a player for Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his pride in his team's performance following their 4-2 win against Manchester City in the Champions League, stating that the team delivered an exceptional first half and demonstrated once again their ability to compete as a big team.

Vitinha, who was named Man of the Match, said: "There are many positive things to take away; it is true that we enjoy it more when we deliver a first half at this level, compared to the second half, but that is natural, as we are playing away from home, in a difficult stadium, against a great team."

He added: "The truth is that what happened in the second half reflects things more realistically, while what we managed to deliver in the first half was exceptional; in fact, we could have scored more goals. We were working well together, and that is also important."

He continued: "It was a very difficult match, and I feel a great pride in this team. We have proven once again that we are a great team. We must continue to work, as the season is still in its early stages, and it is a long season."

Speaking about the importance of the win in Paris Saint-Germain's league journey, he added: "Certainly, these are three important points in this journey. We want to deliver performances like the first half every time, but that is impossible. There are many positive aspects, alongside some negative ones that need improvement, and that is natural."

He continued: "It's a big result here, and I am very proud of this team, whether the players who participated as substitutes or those who started the match as starters. We prove in every match that we are a real team, and this fills my heart with happiness."

Vitinha spoke about his goal that gave Paris Saint-Germain a 3-0 lead, after a pass from Zaire Emery, saying: "Emery deliberately did that with his pass, he saw what was happening out of the corner of his eye, let the ball go, and I was able to finish the move by scoring the goal, so everything was perfect."
