CA Osasuna announce the sacking of Luis Miguel and the appointment of Jagoba Arrasate as his replacement

CA Osasuna have announced the end of Luis Miguel Ramis' tenure as head coach, appointing Jagoba Arrasate as his successor on a contract until June 30, 2029. This move marks the beginning of a new era for the Spanish club.

CA Osasuna has clarified through its official website that the decision to end Ramis's tenure was made on Monday morning during a board meeting, which approved the direction of the sports management. Members of his coaching staff will also leave the club, including José Manuel Gil, Ivane Madrunio, Miguel Ángel Fernández, and José Fachardo, with thanks for their work and best wishes for their future careers.

In contrast, the club has reached an agreement with Jagoba Arrasate to take charge until June 30, 2029, with a contract that includes the remainder of the current season and two additional seasons. Pitor Alkeiza will return to work with him as an assistant coach, and the club will announce later the details of the rest of the coaching staff.

Arrasate is set to lead his first training session on Wednesday at 11:30 AM at the Tajonar center, in an open training session for fans.

The return of Arrasate marks the comeback of a coach who left a significant mark in the history of CA Osasuna, having previously led the team in 256 matches since taking charge in 2018. He guided the team to promotion to the top flight and won the second division title in his first season, before achieving five consecutive seasons of survival in the top league.

His most notable achievements include reaching the final of the Copa del Rey in the 2022/2023 season, alongside qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League and participating for the first time in the club's history in the Spanish Super Cup. After his recent experience with Real Mallorca, where he led the team in 68 matches, Arrasate returns to CA Osasuna to begin his second spell with the club.
