Forest Green Rovers owner decides to part ways with manager and tries unconventional approach
Dale Vince, owner of English club Forest Green Rovers, has announced that his club will operate without appointing a manager or head coach, in a new experiment to see how things will unfold.
Robbie Savage has left his position as manager of the team competing in the English fifth tier on 2 October, to take the same role at Peterborough United.
Despite the departure of Savage, Vince confirmed there is no intention to appoint a new coach, stating that there is no "vacant position" in the coaching staff. He clarified his desire to test the club's ability to operate without a coach with significant influence and a dominant personality.
This move represents a departure from the traditional approach taken by football clubs, which typically rely on a head coach to lead the team and oversee the technical aspects.
