Chelsea eye Florian Wirtz as Liverpool refuse to let him go
Chelsea are monitoring Florian Wirtz, a Liverpool player, as manager Xabi Alonso is interested in signing him after previously working with the player at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
TEAMtalk has reported that Chelsea are monitoring the situation of the German player, who is also attracting interest from Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Bayern Munich, following a start that has not lived up to expectations with Liverpool.
Liverpool have signed Florian Wirtz in the summer of 2025 for £116 million, making him the most expensive German player in the world. The 23-year-old has played 55 matches for the team, scoring 7 goals and providing 11 assists, and his contract runs until the summer of 2030.
Meanwhile, the same source confirmed that Liverpool are not planning to part ways with Florian Wirtz in the near future, noting that the club prefers to give him the time and opportunity needed to regain his form, despite Bayern Munich's interest in signing him.
Liverpool are betting on the player's ability to adapt and regain confidence, as coach Andoni Iraola insists on keeping him in the team's plans instead of considering an early departure.
