Neuer admits mistake against FC Augsburg: I should have made a different decision

Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich's goalkeeper, has admitted his responsibility for the mistake that led to his team conceding an early goal against FC Augsburg in the match that ended in a 2-2 draw in the Bundesliga.

Manuel Neuer said: "It was a silly mistake on my part. I should have played the ball to my left, as I was under pressure from two players on the right, then I tried to find a solution, but I simply should have made a different decision."

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer added: "After the goal, I first had to regain my focus, catch my breath and get over what happened. Of course, there was still a great hope because we were still in the first minute, and we had a chance to turn the result around."

Neuer continued: "We created chances, but unfortunately we didn't manage to take advantage of them, and we weren't a bit lucky with some close offside decisions. It was a match different from anything most of us have experienced before, and it was very strange to score that number of goals and then have them all disallowed."
