Newcastle confirm stance on re-signing Woltemade in January
Newcastle are not planning to re-sign German striker Nick Woltemade during the upcoming winter transfer window, despite him not being a regular starter with Juventus, who are considering other attacking alternatives, according to TEAMtalk.
Sources have confirmed to the site that Nick Woltemade's loan to Juventus, which extends for a full season, will continue until its conclusion, as the agreement does not include a clause allowing for early termination by either party. The return of the player to Newcastle in January requires the approval of the English club, which is currently an unlikely prospect.
Nick Woltemade's future with Newcastle has been decided this summer, after coach Matthias Jaissle felt the player did not fit his plans as required. The German forward has moved to Juventus following negotiations with several interested clubs.
It is not just the stance of the two clubs regarding the loan; Nick Woltemade cannot transfer to a third club before next summer, having played for Newcastle and Juventus during the current season. Thus, he will continue his journey with the Italian team until the end of the season, seeking a greater opportunity for participation.
Meanwhile, Juventus are continuing to evaluate their attacking options, as they consider the possibility of signing Joshua Zirkzee, Manchester United's forward, Matteo Retegui, and Folarin Balogun, a player from AS Monaco.
Despite limited starts, Nick Woltemade remains a player Juventus believe can add significant value to the team, but he needs to prove his abilities before a long-term decision is made regarding his future. Meanwhile, Newcastle are preparing to move in January for a new striker, preferring a player who can occupy the right flank.
