Diego López undergoes new knee surgery

Valencia have announced that player Diego López underwent knee surgery today, Tuesday, on his right knee in the Spanish capital, Madrid, performed by the same medical team that conducted his previous two surgeries.

This is the third operation for the player on the same knee in 2026. López suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee last May and underwent the first surgery in June, before having a second surgical intervention in August due to complications related to the knee that had previously undergone surgery.

Valencia have confirmed that the player will remain under medical supervision in hospital until he is cleared for discharge, without specifying the duration of his absence or when he will return to the pitch.

Initially, Diego López was expected to return to competition at the beginning of 2027, but undergoing a third surgery may delay his return.
