Jesse Marsch, the head coach of the Canada national team, has launched a fierce attack on the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) over the decision to suspend American striker Folarin Balogun, stating that such a decision "would not happen in any other country" around the world.

Marc has stated that the incident reflects, in his view, an American belief that their country deserves exceptional treatment, pointing out that the global public perception of the American national team changed after allowing Balogun to participate in the match against Belgium in the Round of 16, despite receiving a red card against Bosnia-Herzegovina in the previous round.

The suspension of the American striker has been lifted following a request from President Donald Trump to FIFA President Gianni Infantino to review the decision, before FIFA confirmed that the decision was made by an independent disciplinary committee.

According to The Athletic, FIFA regulations typically do not allow for appeals during the FIFA World Cup, but the United States Soccer Federation has submitted appeals based, among other things, on the excessive reliance of the VAR on still and slow-motion footage.

UEFA has described the decision as incomprehensible, considering it a "crossing of red lines."

March spoke about the issue ahead of the friendly match between Canada and the United States on Tuesday evening, stating that Americans have grown up with the idea that their country is "the number one country in the world" and that it always deserves the best.

He added: "When things happen that we feel we have no control over, we feel we deserve to be treated differently because we are American, and that is one of the things that angers the rest of the world towards Americans."

Canada's coach emphasized his belief that what happened in the Balogun case 'would not happen in any other country', considering that the incident contributed to the rising criticism directed at the United States.

The US national team lost to Belgium 4-1 in the Round of 16 in Seattle, exiting the FIFA World Cup under coach Maurício Pochettino, amid ongoing controversy surrounding the Balogun issue and FIFA's decision regarding his suspension.
