Al-Saktawi sets his goal with Oman: qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 2030
Moroccan coach Tarik Skitiwi has confirmed that qualifying for the 2030 FIFA World Cup is the primary objective of his project with the Oman national team, following their exit from the semi-finals of the Arabian Gulf Cup against the United Arab Emirates.
Oman lost to the United Arab Emirates 1-0, exiting the tournament. Coach Abdelaziz Saktoui stated that his team did not deserve to lose the match.
The Moroccan coach said after the match: "I feel a great sense of regret for missing the opportunity to qualify for the final, especially since we did not deserve to lose. We are working with all our strength, and I would like to thank the Omani fans for their great support."
He added: "This tournament was short, but we came out of it with great lessons, and we prepared better for the upcoming challenge, which is the AFC Asian Cup."
He added: "We have a long-term goal, which is to qualify for the FIFA World Cup. I will not hide from you that I have great hope and great certainty that we will go, God willing, to the FIFA World Cup."
In closing his remarks, he said: "We must remain confident, and I ask you to trust us and support us, and I ask for patience, because everything good requires working on a solid foundation, and I am in complete agreement with the federation and our matters are clear."
