Saudi Arabia secured their place in the Arabian Gulf Cup "Gulf 27" final after defeating Qatar 3-2 on penalties, following a goalless draw in regular and extra time, in the match that took place on Saturday evening at the Al-Inma Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the Semi-Final round.

The match saw a fierce contest between the two teams, with both sides keeping a clean sheet throughout the 90 minutes, despite a relative advantage for Saudi Arabia in the first half, as they had 53% possession compared to 47% for Qatar, and they shot four times compared to one shot for the Maroon.

The score remained unchanged during the second half, leading both teams to extra time, but there were no goals in that period either. Ultimately, penalties favored the Saudi team, who won 3-2, securing their place in the final in front of their fans in Jeddah.

Saudi Arabia reached the Semi-Final after topping Group A with a perfect score of 9 points, achieving three consecutive victories over Kuwait, Oman, and Iraq. Meanwhile, Qatar qualified by finishing second in Group B with 7 points.

With this victory, Saudi Arabia continues its journey to reclaim the Arabian Gulf Cup title, awaiting the winner of the match between the United Arab Emirates and Oman in the final, which will take place on Tuesday, October 6, in Jeddah.
