South Sudan coach: I did not expect to lose to Egypt by such a large margin

Christian Bimby, head coach of South Sudan, stated that he did not expect his team to suffer the heavy defeat they received from Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification for 2027.

South Sudan lost to Egypt 5-0 last Tuesday in the second round of Africa Cup of Nations Qualification.

Pimbe, in television statements via the "Al-Nahar" channel, said that he did not expect the match to end with such a large scoreline, pointing out that defensive errors and a lack of focus were among the main reasons for the defeat.

The head coach of South Sudan stated: "I did not expect this heavy defeat, especially after we conceded three goals due to a lack of concentration and failure to follow instructions, along with individual mistakes that appeared during the match."

He added: "I didn't even think about losing; I was at least thinking about putting in a heroic performance against the Egypt national team, but we didn't manage to achieve that, and the differences were clearly visible during the match."
