The Mali national football team arrived in Tangier this morning, Thursday, to start their preparations for the upcoming friendly match against Morocco, scheduled to take place next Sunday at the Grand Stadium of Tangier, at 7 PM GMT.

The Mali Football Federation revealed details of the "Eagles" team's journey, stating that they departed the Liberian capital Monrovia at around 3 AM, before arriving in Tangier at 7 AM, following a flight that lasted more than three hours.

The Mali national team has settled in a hotel in the city, and the team will hold its first training session in Morocco this evening, starting at 6 PM, at the annexed stadium of the Grand Stadium of Tangier, as part of the preparations for the upcoming match.

This match is part of the preparation program for the upcoming challenges, serving as a new test for Morocco, which began its journey in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualification with two consecutive victories over Gabon and Lesotho, both by the same scoreline of 2-0.

The Moroccan national team was initially preparing to face their Ghanaian counterpart in a friendly match, before the Ghana Football Association withdrew from the encounter, citing reasons described as 'internal'. This prompted the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to take action and adopt Mali as a substitute for Ghana.
