Jan Oblak is experiencing a different start to the season with Atlético Madrid, having benefited from a full summer preparation period, something he has not had enough of in recent years.

According to "Mundo Deportivo", Oblak has told those close to him: "I haven't undergone this number of training sessions during pre-season for years." The goalkeeper had to gradually regain his fitness during matches in previous seasons, either due to participation in international tournaments or physical issues, whereas this time he started his preparation from day one and worked fully under the supervision of goalkeeper coach Pablo Versilioni.

The results of this work are becoming clear, as Jan Oblak has maintained clean sheets in his last two matches with the Slovenia national team against Scotland and North Macedonia, delivering a standout performance against Scotland by saving three dangerous chances. With Atlético Madrid, he has kept clean sheets in three out of eight matches in La Liga against Málaga, Real Sociedad, and Osasuna.

Jan Oblak has conceded 7 goals in La Liga so far, including three against Athletic Bilbao at San Mamés, two against Villarreal, one against Real Madrid, and another against Sevilla, making him one of the goalkeepers with the least goals conceded in the competition. He also conceded two goals in a single match in the UEFA Champions League against Liverpool, despite saving several important chances before Dominik Szoboszlai's goal.

Oblak hopes to continue improving and reach his best levels, aiming to compete again for the Zamora Trophy for the seventh time in his career, and to enhance his record as the goalkeeper with the most wins of the award.
